Sarojhans — Otlo pavilion in the orchard — 16:9

Sarojhans

A three-part retreat nestled in a six-acre orchard of mango, neem, and lemon trees. Phase one begins with Otlo — a welcoming outhouse and traditional plinth that opens into the orchard.

Overview

A mass grounded in the earth.

Antoli, Vadodara, Gujarat · Completed

Nestled in a peaceful six-acre orchard of mango, neem, and lemon trees in Antoli, Vadodara, Sarojhans is a three-part project. Phase one begins right at the entrance with Otlo — a small outhouse designed to welcome you in.

The heart of Otlo is a traditional plinth meant for hanging out, sharing stories, and impromptu performances. As soon as you step inside, the space guides you naturally — where to walk, where to sit, and how to move through it — until it opens right up at the back, pulling you straight into the trees to pause and breathe.

It is a mass grounded in the earth, but the shadows of mango, neem, and lime trees create movement and contrast. When nature overpowers, the edges start to soften, and the structure blends into the landscape.

What you get

Amenities

Otlo — Entrance Pavilion

A small outhouse at the entrance, designed to welcome you into Sarojhans. The threshold between the world outside and the orchard within.

Traditional Plinth

The heart of Otlo — a raised plinth for gathering, sharing stories, and impromptu performances. A space that naturally guides how you sit and move.

Mango Orchard

Six acres of mature mango trees forming the canopy. The orchard is the connective tissue between all three phases of the project.

Neem & Lemon Grove

Neem and lemon trees interplanted with the mango, their shadows creating movement and contrast across the grounded mass of the structure.

Natural Flow

The space guides you without signage — where to walk, where to sit, how to move — until it opens at the back into the trees to pause and breathe.

Earth-Grounded Construction

A mass grounded in the earth, built to soften at its edges as nature grows in. Lime plaster and local stone that weather into the landscape.
